Post 2003 Fundraising Information
|
|
Post 2003 supports many community events and youth programs. In order to do so
we have fundraisers to support them. Some of the events that we support are: Veterans Programs (through
McGuire Hospital) Oratorical Contest Boys State American Legion Baseball Boy Scouts Parades,
Ceremonies, and Funeral Details. Fundraising is a continuous event for us to support our
programs.

If you would like to contribute to Post 2003, we are a 501(c)19 non-profit organization.
As such your contribution may be tax deductible. Contact your tax advisor for your elibibility to do so.

Your generous donation can be used to support a specific program or be added to the general fund to support any program
needing funding. You may mail a check to: American Legion Post 2003, 4321 James Madison Highway, Suite 10, Fork
Union, Virginia 23055 Attn: Fundraising Chair The check should be made out to American Legion Post 2003. Please
annotate in the note section it's for Fundraising. Please indicate if you need or would like a receipt for
tax purposes.

Each year starting in July we run our "100 Club". Each person buys a number from 00-99 from
a list. Each number can only be used once and cost $52.00. Then using the Wednesday night drawing of the Virginia
Pick 3 lottery drawing we use the last 2 digits as our winning number. For example if the number drawn is 257, our winning
number would be 57. If your number is drawn we mail you a check for $25.00. You will receive a check each time
your number is drawn, through the yearlong playing period. Although we have already stared this years Club, there are

4th Annual Golf Tourney For
the last 3 years, Post 2003 has sponsored a Golf tourney at local courses to raise funds for our programs. In 2009,
we revisit the Lake Monticello Course on 7 June at 1330. Come join us with the attached registration.
